MacabreDolls is dedicated to the darker side of the ABJD hobby. We aim to acquire a collection of beautifully macabre and eerie ABJD-related photography.

This group is open to anyone who owns (or is interested in) macabre Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls.

Group Rules

_{Submissions are limited to 3 per day.

Photography must include one or more Asian Ball-Jointed Doll.
This group is for Resin ABJD's ONLY. No other doll types/figures will be accepted. (OOAK/artist crafted ball-jointed dolls are also accepted on a case-by-case basis.)

Photography must depict some form of a macabre theme (e.g., dark, gruesome, eerie, creepy, horrifying, ghastly, grim, morbid, ghostly, melancholy, etc.) The levels of which these themes are represented may vary depending on your own idea or interpretation. There is no "set level" of how dark the photo should be, just as long as it incorporates some form of macabre theme. (Remember: MacabreDolls is not necessarily about fashion. The "feel" and atmosphere of the photo is more important than just the clothing.)

Photography itself must be decent and in focus, please take care to make your doll look presentable (e.g., obviously messy wig, REALLY sloppy face-ups) and no cellphone/webcam shots -- you don't need a DSLR/SLR camera, but please only submit your best work.

No submissions for promotional purposes. (i.e., selling your commissions, face-ups, mods, clothes, or any kind of related sale, etc.)

Nudity, violence and 18+ themes are allowed, however please be tasteful and artistic. Again following the dA submission guidelines and using appropriate warnings. [link]

Photography of blank molds, as well as just doll parts (hands, or the like) are also accepted, as long as they are artistically portrayed.

You must only submit your own photography! Do not steal or plagiarize other artists.

Do not submit multiple photographs from the same photoshoot. Pick your best shot!

Please NO HATING or HARASSMENT towards other members. If we catch anyone starting bullcrap, they will be removed from the group. Respect each others differences.}

Why was my submission declined?

_{If your submission was declined it was because it did not meet the guidelines of the group rules and was voted out. We will always provide a reason for why exactly the submission was denied. However, if you feel this was unfairly decided or made in error, please note us and we will take it into consideration. We're nice people... :3 So please do not take it personally! Just try again~

Hi there!

I'm not completely familiar with Hujoos. >_<; Researching it showed mixed feelings about whether it's considered an ABJD or not. I understand that it's not resin, but does it have ball-joints and is it strung on the inside? There are several doll brands out there that aren't resin or strung, but have ball-joints and are (usually) not considered to be in the same category.

So sorry for the late reply!

They're strung just like a BJD and have single jointed arms, double jointed legs, and articulations in all the key spots. I've been able to restring, suede, and wire my girls just like a resin bjd. ^ ^
I know a lot of people have mixed feelings about them, but I just wanted to make sure before I submitted anything.}
