:iconbatsplz:Hello, everyone!

We are very excited and happy to announce this years Halloween Contest! This is Halloween by Pixel-JellY
We would also like to give a special thanks to Pikkochan for the awesome suggestion!

This year's Halloween contest will be...URBAN LEGENDS! THIS IS SPOOKY

Every single place and culture in the world has its own Urban Legends. From big cities to small country towns. From New Mexico's Legend of Rosewell to Japan's legend of Slit Mouth Woman. We all grew up being told some kind of terrifying legend!

So here is your photo challenge:

Please honor the terrifying Urban Legend of your choice through photography!

Which Urban Legend is your very favorite? We want you to convey the legend the best you can with your BJD's!

You may use one or more BJD in your photo.
If more than one person chooses the same legend/theme, please do not be detoured from doing it also! Go with the legend you want to do most.

All aspects of the photo will be judged.
Again, remember this is a MACABRE group! We expect your legends to reflect the group's overall theme!
Artistic abstract photos (of just hands/pieces, etc) are definitely ALLOWED!

Do your research and have fun! THIS IS SPOOKY

(Please don't let your imagination feel stunted to one specific emotion. This contest is open to both serious and humorous ideas, as long as it fits the theme!)

Here are some features of amazing and inspiring works that have a similar Urban Legends Theme:

Check your candy first by jx1-productions Bloody Mary by darkshadowmagus Urban Legend Missing Kidney by Planet-H Samara's Return by suchaprettytoy
Toire no Hanako-san by ChinchouPrincess Woman in White by melanneart Kuchisake-onna by Netjeret urban legend by miyu-chan
Watashi kirei? by Ascendead--Master The Legends: Pop Rocks by Shming

We chose these features because we felt they might inspire you, and give you an idea of how Urban Legends can be photographed in a macabre manner. :) A big THANK YOU to all the amazing artists!

Rules for the contest:

:bulletblack: You must be a member of our group, MacabreDolls

:bulletblack: Entries are limited to ONE (1) deviation per person.

MacabreDolls is dedicated to the darker side of the ABJD hobby. We aim to acquire a collection of beautifully macabre and eerie ABJD-related photography.

This group is open to anyone who owns (or is interested in) macabre Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls. You do not need to own one to join.

Please join us today! You will be accepted automatically!:blackrose:

:skullbones: Group Rules :skullbones:

:bulletblack: Submissions are limited to 3 per day.

:bulletblack: Photography must include one or more Asian Ball-Jointed Doll.
This group is for Resin ABJD's ONLY.
No other doll types/figures will be accepted, e.g. Barbie, Monster High, BRATZ, Fashion Dolls, Pullip, Blythe, etc.
(However, OOAK/artist crafted ball-jointed dolls are accepted!)

:bulletblack: Photography must depict some form of a macabre theme (e.g., dark, gruesome, eerie, creepy, horrifying, ghastly, grim, morbid, ghostly, melancholy, etc.) The levels of which these themes are represented may vary depending on your own idea or interpretation. There is no "set level" of how dark the photo should be, just as long as it incorporates some form of macabre theme. (Remember: MacabreDolls is more about the "feel" and atmosphere of the photo than it is the clothing/fashion that the doll is wearing.)

:bulletblack: Photography itself must be decent and in focus, please take care to make your doll look presentable (e.g., obviously messy wig, messy bedroom background, sloppy paint-job, etc), no low quality cellphone/webcam shots -- you don't need a DSLR/SLR camera, but please only submit your best work.

:bulletblack: No submissions for promotional purposes. (i.e., selling your commissions, face-ups, gore mods, clothing, or any kind of related sale or advertisement.)

:bulletblack: Nudity, violence and 18+ themes are allowed, however please be tasteful and artistic. Again following the dA submission guidelines and using appropriate warnings.

:bulletblack: Photography of blank molds, as well as just doll parts (hands, or the like) are also accepted, as long as they are artistically portrayed.

:bulletblack: You must only submit your own photography! Do not steal or plagiarize other artists.

:bulletblack: Do not submit multiple photographs from the same photoshoot. Pick your best shot!

:bulletblack: Please NO HATING or HARASSMENT towards other members. If we catch anyone starting bullcrap, they will be removed from the group. Respect each others differences.

:skullbones: Why was my submission declined? :skullbones:

If your submission was declined it was because it did not meet the guidelines of the group rules and was voted out. We will always provide a reason for why exactly the submission was denied. However, if you feel this was unfairly decided or made in error, please note us and we will take it into consideration. We're nice people... :3 So please do not take it personally! Just try again~

Becoming a member means you accept these rules.

SO hopefully uou'll get a few more entries too. Btw, you can only do the one image right? I was wondering if a collage was allowed? So like the main picture then down the side some more 'detail' shots? If not then that's fine. I can upload the contest entry and then the collage one as a seperate thing

After discussing it with the other admin, we agree that it's perfectly fine to do a collage. :) As long as it's one submission, then a collage/panel is fine! Tell your story the best way you can! Have fun. *u* <333
